STUDENT SUPPORT AND PRIZES

The Executive Committee of the Fluid Mixing Processes Subject Group (FMPSG) of the IChemE and the Conference Organising Committee are pleased to announce that three prizes of £ 500 funded by the FMPSG were awarded to UK-based research students whose papers were accepted for oral presentation at the Conference, to cover registration fees and conference-associated costs.

A research student competition organised by the FMPSG was held on 7 January 2009 at KingÕs College London; participating students presented their papers and prizes were awarded to the following:

  • 1st prize: Heema Unadkat, University of Loughborough;
  • 2nd prize: Adi Utomo, University of Birmingham;
  • 3rd prize: Jolius Gimbun, University of Loughborough.

    • Considering the high standard of the presentations, the judges decided to award a copy of the ÒHandbook of Industrial Mixing: Science and PracticeÓ (edited by Edward L. Paul, Victor Atiemo-Obeng, and Suzanne M. Kresta ) to all students that participated in the competition.
